| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a dynamic full-length figure of a footballer in mid-stride, kicking a ball in the foreground, with a stylised crowd of spectators rendered in relief behind a horizontal bar suggesting a stadium setting. A banner bearing the legend HALL OF FAME OF FOOTBALL arcs across the upper field. The stylised year 2006 appears in the lower centre field, beneath which the inscription Germany 1980's is rendered in script lettering. The design commemorates Franz Beckenbauer's association with FC Bayern München during the 1980s. |

Uganda's commemorative program in the mid-2000s leaned heavily on global sports celebrities with no connection to the country, a practice common among small issuers generating foreign collector revenue rather than domestic circulation pieces. Beckenbauer's selection almost certainly traces to a broader licensed series rather than any particular Ugandan initiative — the same image packages were sold to multiple African and Pacific issuers during this period.
Silver-plated copper-nickel was the workhorse composition of this collector market. Delamination on the plating is the practical concern with long-term storage.
