The date of discovery 1500 appears above the wreath at the upper field, and the issue year 1900 appears below at the lower field. The circumferential legend 4° CENTENARIO DO DESCOBRIMENTO DO BRASIL arcs around the full periphery, with a single star at the base separating the inscription. The outer border is finished with a continuous beaded rim consistent with the obverse. |
