Reverse description Central bust of Christopher Columbus facing slightly to the left, depicted in high relief with shoulder-length hair and period costume, rendered in a Renaissance portrait style. The figure occupies the central field, framed by a beaded inner border. The upper circumferential legend reads ·QVINTO·CENTENARIO· commemorating the fifth centenary of the discovery of the Americas. The denomination ·2000·PTAS· is inscribed along the lower arc. The Madrid mint mark (M crowned) and the engraver's privy mark appear within the legend band, flanking the central portrait.
