| Obverse description | Upper left corner bears an engraved bust portrait of Louis XVI in profile facing right, set within a circular frame; upper right corner contains three fleurs-de-lis within a circular wreath vignette. The body of the note is divided into two principal cartouches carrying the denomination and statutory text, with the engraver's name GATTEAUX and the numeral 2000 appearing among the inscriptions. The overall design is executed in letterpress with fine ornamental borders typical of Revolutionary-era French fiscal paper. |
