Additional information

Issued to mark the 250th anniversary of the completion of Stockholm's Royal Palace — Nicodemus Tessin the Younger's project, finished in 1754 after nearly a century of construction following the destruction of Tre Kronor castle by fire in 1697. Sveriges Riksbank produced this as part of a broader commemorative gold program that accelerated in the early 2000s, with mintages kept deliberately low to maintain collector premiums.

The .900 fineness is a holdover from earlier Swedish gold coinage standards rather than the .999 now common in bullion issues.
