| Obverse description | Central field dominated by an ornate imperial throne with a deeply quilted crimson-colored upholstered back and seat, framed by elaborately gilded scrollwork and lion-head armrests rendered in antique gold selective gilding. Two crossed Roman military standards flank the throne at upper left and right, while a treasure chest with a goblet appears to the lower left and a second chest to the lower right. A human skull entwined with serpents occupies the lower central field beneath the throne, adding a memento mori motif. A gilded crown surmounts the throne's crest rail, and the textured stone-effect field gives the composition a monumental relief quality. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the left periphery, with 2 OZ, 2000 FRANCS CFA, Ag 999, and the date 2023 arranged along the right periphery and lower border. |
