| Reverse description | Striking high-relief bust of Medusa shown full-face, her gaze direct and commanding, with a profusion of writhing serpents forming her hair and coiling around her arms and shoulders in dynamic sculptural detail. To the left and right of the central figure, diminutive human figures are depicted in postures of terror and flight, their forms rendered in lower relief against the textured field. The single legend 'MEDUSA' appears in bold capital letters, anchoring the reverse composition. The antique finish treatment imparts a dramatic chiaroscuro effect, enhancing the mythological intensity of the design. |

| Additional information |
Cameroon has no historical or monetary connection to the Medusa myth — this is a bullion-adjacent collectible issued under a licensing arrangement that allows private minting companies to attach foreign sovereign names to themed silver rounds for the international collector market. The CFA franc is Cameroon's actual currency, administered by the BEAC; a 2000 FCFA face value is nominal and far below the coin's silver content value.
The selective gilding technique became commercially widespread in commemorative issues after roughly 2010, applied here as a sales differentiator rather than a minting innovation.
