Obverse description An intricate steampunk-style mechanical composition fills the entire field, featuring an elaborate assembly of interlocking cogs, gears, toothed wheels, and articulated connecting rods rendered in high relief with an antique finish. Concentric curved bands sweep across the design, evoking the schematic drawings of Renaissance engineering. A microchip circuit-board pattern is visible in the background of the lower field, contrasting the historical mechanical motifs. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs across the upper left field, while 2000 FRANCS CFA and the date 2024 appear along the lower right. The fineness mark AG 999 is inscribed at the right, with the weight denomination 2 OZ at the lower left, and the XXI mint mark of the XXI Century Mint appears in the lower centre.

Reverse description The reverse presents a richly detailed portrait composition honoring Leonardo da Vinci, combining high-relief sculpting with selective color application. A large bust of the aged Leonardo, rendered in naturalistic color with flowing white beard and hair, dominates the left and centre of the field. Behind the portrait, a silvered relief of the Vitruvian Man is depicted in the upper field. To the lower centre, a full-color reproduction of the Mona Lisa is inset, while the upper right features a three-dimensional golden pyramid parachute figure — one of Leonardo's inventions — and a silvered ornithopter wing extends to the right. A mechanical aerial screw device with iridescent coloring occupies the mid-right field, and an array of gears and mechanical contraptions surrounds the composition on the left. The legend LEONARDO DA VINCI 1452–1519 arcs along the lower rim within a decorative border of graduated geometric devices.
