Obverse description The national coat of arms of Cameroon is centered in the field, depicting a shield bearing a balance scale and a sword, flanked by two crossed fasces topped with axes, with a five-pointed star above the shield and a scroll below inscribed REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON / REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the upper rim, while the motto PAIX / PEACE, TRAVAIL / WORK, and PATRIE / FATHERLAND appears to the left and right of the shield. The date 2024 is divided across the lower field, and the denomination 2000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed prominently below. The legends ONE TROY OUNCE and .999 FINE SILVER appear at the left and right periphery respectively, and the entire design is framed by an ornate geometric and interlaced border.

Additional information

Cameroon's modern commemorative silver program operates almost entirely through the Monnaie de Paris under licensing arrangements that have little connection to domestic monetary policy — these pieces are struck for the international collector market and rarely if ever circulate within Cameroon itself.
