| Reverse description | The Hindu deity Ganesha is depicted seated in a frontal posture in the lotus position, rendered in deeply sculpted high relief with an antique finish. The four-armed figure holds a tusk and a lotus flower in the upper hands, while the lower hands carry a bowl of modaka sweets and rest in a gesture of blessing; a small mouse, Ganesha's vahana, appears at the base. The deity is adorned with elaborate jewellery, a beaded necklace, armlets, and a decorative girdle. A teardrop-shaped emerald gemstone insert is set prominently at the crown of the head. The legend 'GANESHA' is inscribed in spaced letters around the lower periphery of the field, interspersed among a decorative border of heart-shaped motifs and a beaded inner rim. |
