Obverse description The obverse features a highly detailed, close-up relief depiction of a dragon's eye dominating the entire field, rendered with intricate reptilian scales surrounding it. The pupil and iris are applied in vivid color, with deep red and orange hues radiating outward from the vertical slit pupil, creating a striking visual effect. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 2000 FRANCS CFA, the weight designation 2 oz, the fineness mark Ag999, the mint mark XXI, and the date 2023 are inscribed along the lower and right portions of the coin within the scaly texture of the field.

Additional information

The Bank of Central African States issues coinage on behalf of six member nations — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon — under a monetary union whose franc zone arrangements trace back to a 1972 agreement formalizing post-colonial currency cooperation with France. BEAC bullion and collector issues are struck under contract by foreign mints, as the monetary union has no mint of its own.

KM#631 places this in the growing BEAC collector series aimed squarely at the international bullion and fantasy coin market rather than domestic circulation.
