| Obverse description | Central to the obverse is a bold high-relief depiction of a sun face, rendered in the antique finish with deeply sculpted radiating rays extending to the coin's periphery. The anthropomorphic solar visage features one eye open and one closed, conveying a sense of timeless awareness, while two disembodied hands emerge from the rays on either side. Cameroon's numismatic program has for years been operated largely by external minting houses — primarily European — with the Republic lending its name and nominal authority to issues designed, marketed, and distributed almost entirely outside the country. The Chronos series is no exception. These collector pieces have no relationship to Cameroonian monetary circulation and are struck to meet demand from the international thematic coin market.
