| Obverse description | The obverse displays the coat of arms of the Gabonese Republic centrally in the field, featuring a shield supported by two black panthers, with a ship beneath three golden bezants on the escutcheon and a decorative foliate crest above. The legend REPUBLIQUE GABONAISE arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script. Below the arms, the fineness mark Ag 925 appears to the lower left, the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed prominently across the lower field, and the date 2014 is placed centrally beneath the shield. The national motto UNION TRAVAIL JUSTICE is rendered on a scroll at the base of the arms. |
