| Reverse description | The reverse presents a finely engraved naturalistic scene depicting barn swallows (Hirundo rustica) in their nesting environment. In the lower left, three juvenile swallows are shown huddled in a nest constructed of straw and mud, while an adult swallow is depicted in full flight with wings outstretched across the upper right portion of the field. The engraver's initials 'Ki' appear to the lower right of the flying bird. The conservation inscription 'ÓVD A TERMÉSZETET!' (Protect Nature!) arcs along the upper periphery, and the Latin binomial 'HIRUNDO RUSTICA' is inscribed along the lower border, all within a beaded rim. |

Hungary joined the WWF's national coinage program in the late 1990s alongside dozens of other participating mints, producing a series of collector-targeted silver issues timed to the organization's ongoing fundraising campaigns. The Magyar Nemzeti Bank contributed a portion of the premium above face value directly to WWF Hungary, a practice that was standard across the program's partner mints but rarely disclosed prominently in contemporary sales materials.
