| Obverse description | The obverse features the Hungarian coat of arms at center, depicting the traditional shield with the Árpád stripes and the apostolic double cross, flanked by elaborate baroque-style foliate and grapevine ornamental scrollwork. The mint mark 'BP.' appears to the lower left and the date '2014' to the lower right of the central device. The legend 'MAGYARORSZÁG' arcs across the upper field in bold raised lettering. Below, the denomination '2000' is rendered in large ornamental numerals with decorative flourishes, with the word 'FORINT' inscribed within a rectangular cartouche at the bottom. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a detailed architectural rendering of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank headquarters building in Budapest, depicted in a three-quarter frontal perspective that highlights the ornate neo-baroque façade with its central pediment, arched windows, and decorative sculptural elements. The curved legend 'MAGYAR NEMZETI BANK' arcs along the upper periphery in raised lettering. The founding year '1924' is prominently displayed within a decorative scroll motif at the upper center of the field, commemorating the 90th anniversary of the bank's establishment. A small engraver's mark appears in the lower right field. |

The Magyar Nemzeti Bank was established in 1924, not 1914 — making this coin's "90th anniversary" calculation worth a second look. Hungary had no independent central bank before that date; the Austro-Hungarian Bank handled monetary affairs until the dissolution of the Habsburg empire forced successor states to build their own institutions from scratch. The MNB opened its doors on June 24, 1924, under conditions of catastrophic postwar inflation that had already wiped out the korona.
The copper-nickel commemorative format was by 2014 a well-worn vehicle for Hungarian anniversary issues, with the 2000 forint face value chosen specifically for non-circulating collector pieces.
