Cabo Verde has run a currency board arrangement pegged to the euro since 1998, which constrains the central bank's monetary flexibility considerably — the Banco de Cabo Verde issues notes largely as a matter of national identity rather than independent policy. The 2000 Escudos is the highest denomination in the current series, printed by De La Rue in London, a relationship that has been consistent across multiple Cabo Verdean series.
P#74 carries only watermark and security thread as listed features — modest by contemporary standards, though sufficient given the archipelago's relatively low cash transaction volumes.
