Obverse description Central field features a detailed frontal view of the Banco Central building in Malabo, rendered in high relief with a modernist multi-storey facade. A palm tree is depicted to the right of the building. The circular legend at top reads REPUBLICA DE GUINEA ECUATORIAL, while the lower portion bears the inscriptions BANCO CENTRAL MALABO and 2.000 EKUELE. The fineness mark 0,927 appears to the right, and the CHI mint mark of Valcambi is struck to the lower left of the building. The coin is struck to proof standard with a deeply mirrored field and beaded border.
