A composition known as the 'Source of Life' is integrated into the design, accompanied by a pair of peacocks in a stylised arrangement. Comments

The 2000 Denar denomination sits at the top of Macedonia's circulating paper series — an unusual choice to retain on paper given that most central banks at this denomination level have migrated to polymer. Thomas De La Rue printed this 2022 issue in London, as they have for much of the Macedonian series since the mid-1990s. Lasko Djurovski, who has been responsible for the visual design of several Macedonian banknotes, handled the artwork here.

Security specification is relatively light for a high-denomination note — watermark and thread only, no optically variable ink or color-shifting features listed under P#W33.
