Reverse description A detailed intaglio vignette of the Central Bank of China building in Shanghai occupies the upper half of the note, rendered in blue with fine architectural detail including a prominent clock tower. Below, a large guilloche numeral '2000' anchors the lower portion, with the English denomination inscription beneath it. Two manuscript signatures of bank officials appear at the foot of the design above the year date, with the printer's imprint along the lower margin.
