| Additional information |
The White-tailed Eagle series runs as a bullion issue from Mennica Polska, produced under the authority granted to the mint following its privatization in 1999 — one of the more consequential restructurings of any European state mint in the post-communist period. Poland's choice of the white-tailed eagle as the recurring motif is not incidental; the bird has appeared on Polish coinage in various forms since the Piast dynasty, making it among the oldest continuously used heraldic symbols in European numismatics. The .9999 fineness places it among the purest gold bullion coins in current production anywhere.
