Reverse description The reverse presents a formal portrait bust of Prince Józef Poniatowski facing slightly to the right, depicted in his Napoleonic-era military dress uniform adorned with epaulettes, a fur-lined mantle draped over his left shoulder, and a prominent star decoration — likely the Légion d'honneur — on his chest. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine engraved detail conveying the dignified bearing of the Polish general and Marshal of France. The legend KSIĄŻĘ JÓZEF PONIATOWSKI arcs around the full periphery of the coin, running along both the left and right sides, framed by a decorative wave-pattern border. The dates 1763 and 1813 — marking his birth and death — are inscribed in two lines to the left of the portrait in the field.
