Obverse description Black on green underprint with a vignette portrait of Takenouchi no Sukune at right, accompanied by the Imperial Seal of Japan. The note bears large and small vermillion mi-hon (specimen) overprints applied diagonally across the face. Serial number and block designations appear in the upper corners, with the full Bank of Japan convertible note legend and denomination inscribed in classical Japanese script.
