Part of Kazakhstan's ongoing "Mythical Creatures" series, this issue draws on the Jar-Jar — a figure from Kazakh folklore described as a shape-shifting spirit associated with deception and mischief. The National Bank has used the series aggressively since the 2010s to drive collector interest in circulating commemoratives, a strategy that has kept nickel silver issues moving through the secondary market faster than most regional peers.
