Obverse description At centre, a front-facing portrait bust of President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi is set against a guilloche underprint, with the national arms at centre and a mountain vignette at lower centre. A rose motif appears at right. The note carries bilingual inscriptions in English and Swahili identifying the issuing authority and legal tender status.

Reverse description The central vignette presents the Kenyatta International Conference Centre and its distinctive Uhuru Monument in Nairobi, rendered in detailed intaglio with a standing figure at its base and a tree canopy to the upper right. At left, a vignette of women engaged in tea harvesting is set within a multicolour guilloche underprint. Denomination numerals "200" appear in large letterpress at lower left and lower right.
