Obverse description The Indonesian national emblem, Garuda Pancasila, is depicted in high relief at the center of the field, showing the mythical eagle with wings spread wide and talons clutching a scroll inscribed with the national motto BHINNEKA TUNGGAL IKA. The heraldic shield on Garuda's breast bears the five symbols of the Pancasila philosophy.
