Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the St. Edward's Crown and a pearl necklace, modeled by engraver Cecil Thomas. The truncation of the bust is draped. The circular legend reads QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND around the periphery, with the date 1971 appearing to the left of the crown in the field. A fine toothed border runs along the rim.
