Obverse description At centre, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia with wings lowered, encircled by a ring of dots; a semicircular legend reading БАНК РОССИИ (BANK OF RUSSIA) appears below the eagle within the inner circle. Above the central device, the denomination ДВЕСТИ РУБЛЕЙ (TWO HUNDRED ROUBLES) is inscribed along the upper field. Below, to the left, the precious metal designation and fineness are indicated; at centre, the year of issue 1999 г.; and to the right in two lines, the fine metal content, the Saint Petersburg Mint mark СПМД, and the individual coin serial number №___. The outer rim is framed by two concentric lines interspersed with four symmetrically placed decorative elements.

Reverse description The central field depicts a detailed architectural view of the Saint Petersburg Mint building set against a panoramic silhouette of the St. Petersburg cityline. To the left, a bust portrait of Peter the Great is presented, beneath which the inscription ПЕТР I ОСНОВАТЕЛЬ (PETER I THE FOUNDER) appears. In the lower field, a scatter of historical and contemporary coins is rendered in relief. To the right, the commemorative inscription 275 ЛЕТ (275 YEARS) is displayed in two lines, accompanied by the badge of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland and the mint mark СПМД. At the top of the composition, a flying angel from the spire of the Peter and Paul Cathedral is depicted, while the circumferential legend САНКТ ПЕТЕРБУРГСКИЙ МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР (THE SAINT PETERSBURG MINT) runs along the rim.
