| Reverse description | Three overlapping busts of Britannia portrayed at distinct stages of life — as a young girl laureated with an olive branch, as a helmeted warrior in the prime of life wearing scale armour, and as a mature elder woman — all facing right in a layered, high-relief composition designed by Sandra Deiana. The design symbolises the enduring and evolving nature of the Britannia allegory across time. The engraver's initials SD appear at lower left. The legend BRITANNIA 2022 arcs along the upper left field, with the specification 2 OZ 999.9 FINE GOLD inscribed along the right. |

The fifth portrait of Elizabeth II, modeled by Jody Clark and adopted from 2015, was still relatively new to the sovereign coinage program when the Queen died in September 2022. Issues struck that year occupy an odd transitional position — produced under her reign but released, in some cases, into a world that had already moved on to Charles III. Whether any individual piece crossed that line depends entirely on its precise striking date, which the Royal Mint has not made granular.
