| Obverse description | Uncrowned, bare-headed effigy of King Charles III facing left, rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail, after the portrait by Martin Jennings. The circular legend reading CHARLES III·D·G·REX·F·D·200 POUNDS·2025 surrounds the effigy, with the engraver's initials MJ incuse below the truncation. The design is set within a broad, mirror-polished field characteristic of proof coinage. |

The Battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775 marked the opening shots of the American Revolutionary War — "the shot heard round the world," in Emerson's phrase. That these engagements are now commemorated by the British Royal Mint, on a coin bearing the head of a British monarch, carries an irony that would not have been lost on the minutemen who stood on Lexington Green that morning.
The two-troy-ounce format places this squarely in the Royal Mint's premium bullion-adjacent proof series, where collector premiums far exceed melt value.
