Obverse description Intaglio portrait of botanist and priest José Celestino Mutis occupies the left-centre of the note, with a small vignette of a church tower to his left labelled 'MUTIS', set against an intricate green guilloche underprint. The Colombian coat of arms appears in the upper-right corner alongside the 'VON HUMBOLDT' cartouche, while the denomination numeral '200' is rendered in guilloche ovals at the lower corners.
