Obverse description An intaglio vignette of the National Bank building in Saigon occupies the right half of the note, rendered in purple against a multicolour guilloche underprint with flowing ribbon motifs and floral rosettes. The left half is dominated by a large oval guilloche panel in pale yellow-green, flanked by an ornate rosette at lower left bearing the numeral "200". Two signature lines appear at the bottom centre, labelled "Tổng Kiểm-Soát" and "Thống Đốc", with the denomination "HAI TRĂM ĐỒNG" in bold letterpress at lower right.

Reverse description The reverse is entirely composed of intricate multicolour guilloche work in purple, orange, teal and grey, with no pictorial vignette. A large central oval guilloche medallion incorporates the numeral "200" at its base, surrounded by layered spiralling lathe-work rosettes. The bank name and denomination appear in letterpress above and below respectively, with a legal warning against counterfeiting printed in small text at the lower centre.
