Obverse description Printed in black by letterpress in a vertical format, the note presents a central rectangular frame enclosing a vertical denomination inscription in Chinese regular script (kaisho). Below the frame, two skipjack tuna (katsuo) are rendered swimming leftward, a motif emblematic of Tosa Province's coastal identity.

Reverse description Printed in black with applied red official stamps, the reverse carries a vertical inscription in Chinese seal script (tensho) positioned at the lower portion of the note, surrounded by interlacing twining plant tendrils that form the principal decorative border.
