| Obverse description | Intaglio-printed in black on white wove paper in the fine stipple style characteristic of the Perkins workshop, the note carries the Arms of the Brazilian Empire at left and a panoramic port vignette of Salvador, Bahia at centre. Denomination numeral '200' and the word DUZENTOS repeat throughout the ornamental border arrangement, while the right panel bears the authorising decree reference of 1 June 1833. The payment obligation 'NO THESOURO NACIONAL SE PAGARÁ ao portador desta a quantia de DUZENTOS MIL RÉIS' is inscribed across the central text panel, with the denomination expressed as '200$000'. |
