| Obverse description | The Croatian national coat of arms — a red-and-white chequered shield surmounted by a crown of five smaller historical shields — is depicted at the top center of the field. Centered in the field is the traditional alka ring target, rendered in detail with its characteristic inner circle and three radiating spokes, suspended from a loop at the top. The denomination '200' appears in large numerals in the lower field, with the currency name 'KUNA' inscribed below. The legend 'REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA' curves along the upper periphery in Latin script. The Alka of Sinj is a knightly tournament held annually in the small Dalmatian town of Sinj, commemorating the 1715 defense against an Ottoman force vastly superior in number — a victory attributed locally to miraculous intervention and celebrated unbroken ever since. UNESCO added it to the Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2010, which almost certainly prompted this issue four years later.
The tournament's strict codex, unchanged since 1715, governs everything from the riders' dress to the precise gallop required. No modifications have ever been formally ratified.
