Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of King Gustav III, depicted in late 18th-century court attire with lace cravat and queue-tied powdered wig rendered in finely engraved curling strokes. The portrait is set in high relief against a smooth field, occupying the majority of the coin's face. The surrounding legend arcs across the upper portion of the coin reading GUSTAV III flanked by small decorative stops, with the bicentennial commemorative dates 1792 and 1992 continuing the arc to the right. The design reflects a neoclassical portrait style consistent with period representations of the Swedish monarch. A beaded inner border frames the entire composition.

Reverse description The full achievement of the Swedish royal coat of arms dominates the reverse, depicting the crowned greater arms of Sweden displayed on a mantle beneath a royal crown, with the shield bearing the three crowns and the Folkung lion devices arranged in quarterly fashion. The mantle is elaborately rendered with tasselled cords tied at each side and draped curtains flanking the central shield. The mint master's mark E and engraver's initial D appear to the left and right of the shield respectively within the field. The country name SVERIGE arcs across the upper legend, while the denomination 200 KR is inscribed along the lower portion. A beaded inner border encircles the design.
