| Reverse description | The reverse presents a dramatic scene commemorating the centenary of the first claimed attainment of the North Pole. In the lower central field, three Arctic explorers in heavy cold-weather clothing are depicted pushing and guiding a laden sled, with sled dogs visible to the left, all set against a cartographic projection of the polar region. Above them, stylized sweeping arcs of ice formations or aurora borealis dominate the upper field, rendered in fine sculptural detail. The circular legend reads 'DOSAŽENÍ SEVERNÍHO PÓLU' on the left arc and '1909-2009' on the right. The engraver's initials 'JV' appear in the lower right field. |
