| Obverse description | The Czech national coat of arms occupies the upper field, rendered in elaborate decorative style with ornate scrollwork and foliate flourishes framing the quartered shield bearing the Bohemian lion and Moravian and Silesian eagles. Below the arms, the legend ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA arches across the field in two lines, with the denomination 200 Kč inscribed beneath in bold numerals. The engraver's initial P appears to the lower right of the arms, and the Czech Mint mark ČM is present at the bottom of the field. |

| Additional information |
Mikoláš Aleš was among the most prolific illustrators of Czech national mythology in the nineteenth century, and his imagery — drawn heavily from folk tradition and the Hussite past — became so embedded in popular consciousness that his work appeared on banknotes, stamps, and public murals long before this commemorative was struck. The Czech National Bank issued this coin to mark the 150th anniversary of his birth in 1852.
The .900 fine silver specification aligns with the standard the CNB established for its commemorative 200 Kč series throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.
