Obverse description The obverse is framed by an elaborate intaglio-printed border of interlocking guilloche ornaments and rosette medallions at each corner, printed in dark grey-black. A central orange-gold underprint vignette of radiant guilloche work occupies the middle of the note, over which the issuer name "De Nederlandlandsche Bank" and the denomination "TWEE HONDERD GULDEN" appear in bold letterpress. Below the central text block, two manuscript signatures are present above the titles "Secretaris" and "President", with the issue place and date "Amsterdam, Uitgifte 1 Augustus 1914" in an oval cartouche at the foot.
