| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Djibouti is depicted at the centre of a raised circular device set within a square planchet, featuring two crossed spears and a traditional Somali shield framed by laurel branches and surmounted by a star. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DE DJIBOUTI arcs along the upper portion of the inner circle, while the denomination 200 FRANCS and fineness marks AG 999 and 1 OZ appear in the lower portion of the legend. The square field surrounding the central device is richly decorated in relief with ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic motifs, cartouches, and figural elements at each corner evoking Pharaonic iconography. The date 2025 is inscribed in a cartouche-style tablet at the base of the square field. |
