The field is densely scattered with fleur-de-lis motifs in low relief, evoking the royal arms of France. The name JEANNE D'ARC is inscribed in two arcing segments flanking the bust at left and right, while the birth and death dates 1412 - 1431 appear in the lower exergual area. The overall composition is strongly medallic in character, with a deliberately textured, hammered-effect flan. |
