(Translation: Hellenic Republic 200 Euro)
Reverse description The reverse presents a finely engraved right-facing bust of Hippocrates, the ancient Greek physician, depicted as a bearded elder with short curly hair and a draped garment, in a classical portrait style. The bust occupies the majority of the central field and is rendered in high relief with considerable sculptural detail. The inscription ΙΠΠΟΚΡΑΤΗΣ Ο ΚΩΟΣ arcs along the upper left periphery, with the life dates 460 π.Χ. - 377π.Χ. continuing around the legend, and the year 2013 appears in the lower field beneath the portrait. A decorative meander (Greek key) border frames the design along the inner edge of the rim, lending an authentically Hellenic artistic character to the composition.
