Part of the Vatican's three-coin Archangels series issued under Francis, this piece was struck in a mintage of just 200 examples — one of the lowest production runs the Vatican Mint has ever authorized for a gold issue. That figure is not incidental; it reflects the Holy See's deliberate policy of producing ultra-limited collector coins whose face value bears almost no relationship to their actual market value.
