Obverse description Bust of Pope Francis depicted in three-quarter view, shown in a devotional posture with hands clasped together in prayer and head bowed. The Pontiff wears his papal vestments and white zucchetto, and is rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail. The legend FRANCISCVS P.M. A.D. MMXV curves along the upper periphery, with S.P. III to the right. The engraver's signature appears in the lower left field.

Reverse description Allegorical seated figure of Prudentia (Prudence) occupying the central field, rendered in classical style. The female personification is shown enthroned, holding a mirror in her raised right hand and a serpent in her left, both traditional attributes of Prudence derived from iconographic convention. The denomination 200 EURO appears in the lower left field, with the inscription CITTÀ DEL VATICANO arching along the upper border. The mint mark R for the Rome Mint appears at the base, and the word PRUDENTIA is inscribed in small letters near the figure.
