Reverse description The reverse presents three oval-framed vignettes arranged in a triangular composition, each celebrating a distinct Spanish cultural and historical reference of the 19th century. At the top, the Palacio de Cristal (Crystal Palace), located within Madrid's Buen Retiro Park, is depicted in fine architectural detail. To the right, a portrait of the celebrated Galician poet and writer Rosalía de Castro, drawn by Antonio Portal, is shown in an oval medallion. To the left, a rendering of the replica of the Mataró locomotive, the first steam train to operate in Spain, as exhibited at the Railway Museum of Catalonia in Vilanova i la Geltrú, is similarly framed. The denomination and mint mark appear in the field.
