| Obverse description | Design inspired by the commemorative medal struck in 1806 to celebrate Napoleon I's victory at the Battle of Austerlitz. The central motif features a winged scepter surmounted by a statuette of Charlemagne, flanked by symbols of imperial power, rendered in high relief against the field. The composition closely follows the iconography of Napoleonic imperial imagery. The legend in the upper field reads '220e ANNIVERSAIRE / BATAILLE D'AUSTERLITZ', with the denomination '200 EURO', the RF monogram, and the date '2025' also inscribed. |

Issued to mark the 220th anniversary of the Battle of Austerlitz, fought on 2 December 1805 — Napoleon's tactical masterpiece, in which he shattered the combined Austrian and Russian armies despite being outnumbered. The engagement ended the War of the Third Coalition in a single day and forced Austria into the Treaty of Pressburg, redrawing the map of Central Europe within weeks of the guns falling silent.
