Armenia's "Flora" bullion and commemorative program has issued dozens of species-specific pieces, but the Oriental beech (*Fagus orientalis*) carries particular national weight — the species dominates the mixed forests of the Lesser Caucasus and represents one of the largest continuous beech forest zones remaining in the South Caucasus. The 2014 aluminum bronze issue was struck at the Kremnica Mint in Slovakia, which has handled much of Armenia's commemorative coinage output since the early 2000s.
