Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, a right-facing draped bust engraved by Susanna Blunt, wearing a pearl necklace and earring with her characteristic coiffed hair. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left periphery and D·G·REGINA along the upper right periphery in raised Latin characters. The portrait is rendered with fine sculptural detail in the high-relief proof style characteristic of Royal Canadian Mint collector issues. The field is polished and unadorned, allowing the effigy to dominate the design.
