Obverse description The obverse features the mature effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, as designed by Susanna Blunt, with the Queen depicted wearing a pearl necklace and earrings with her hair styled in a characteristic upswept arrangement. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the left periphery and 'D·G·REGINA' along the right periphery in raised Latin lettering. The designer's initials 'SB' appear discreetly on the truncation of the effigy. The portrait is rendered in fine detail against a smooth, matte field characteristic of the proof finish.

Additional information

The Royal Canadian Mint's high-purity .9999 fine silver issues of this period were partly a response to collector demand for bullion-quality metal in numismatic formats — a market the RCM aggressively developed through the 2010s, at times releasing well over a hundred distinct collector coins annually. That volume has made secondary-market pricing volatile for the series as a whole.
