Obverse description The upper field features a bold sculptural depiction of the 'Monument Les Braves' memorial by Anilore Banon, rendered in high relief with its three groups of abstract bronze forms rising above a textured representation of the Omaha Beach shoreline. Within the lower central field, an incuse circular inset displays the bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Charles III, engraved by Dominique Thiébaut, surrounded by the legend '200 DOLLARS · CHARLES III DT · COOK ISLANDS'. The date '6 JUNE 1944' appears in the lower left field and the fineness specification '1OZ .9999 AU' in the lower right field, both rendered in an arc following the coin's curvature. The inscription 'MONUMENT LES BRAVES' curves along the upper periphery in bold raised lettering.
