| Reverse description | A large red kangaroo is depicted in dynamic mid-leap, rendered in high relief, poised above a dry, cracked creek bed evocative of the Australian outback. In the background, a traditional windmill and a corrugated iron water-storage tank are finely detailed, reinforcing the rural Australian pastoral setting. The date 2024 appears in the field, accompanied by the weight and fineness designations 2oz and 9999 GOLD, the series name KANGAROO, the Perth Mint privy mark P125, and the designer's initials WR. |

| Additional information |
The Perth Mint's high-relief proof kangaroos in 2-ounce format have occupied a consistent position at the top of their annual bullion-adjacent program since the series matured in the 2010s, but 2024 marks the first year Charles III appears on the obverse following the Royal Australian Mint's formal adoption of the Jody Clark effigy for Australian coinage after Elizabeth II's death in September 2022. Transitional Australian issues spanning late 2022 through 2023 used the existing Elizabeth II dies while the new portrait underwent approval, making 2024 the true first-year Charles III for this denomination and finish type.
